Men's Basketball
The D'Youville men’s basketball team finished its 10th season under the leadership of head coach Earl Schunk, establishing itself as an exciting and competitive team at the Division II level.
Using a mix of youth and experience that featured nine newcomers to the program, the Saints opened the season with a win over Villa Maria that earned sophomore captain Noah Denz distinction as ECC Defensive Player of the Week. The group then held their own against nationally-ranked Gannon and Mercyhurst, while building a budding rivalry with Elite Eight participant and local ECC for Daemen.
From the explosive play of freshman guards Mason Putnam and Trent Scott to the high-flying dunks of Jaeger Martino and Jared Sullivan, the Saints are set to entertain fans this fall when spectators return to the College Center Gym.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic may have delayed our planned debut on the court, but the men's basketball team certainly has not slowed. Our move to Division II has brought new opportunities and opponents, along with an increased need for financial support. A gift to D’Youville Athletics, in an amount that is meaningful to you, will help fund our team travel, academic and leadership training, and facilities upgrades benefiting all student-athletes.
Alumni and friends like you are what make D’Youville Athletics the premiere program we know and love.
Thank you for your support and GO SAINTS!
