Be the Spark - Canisius Fund Annual Campaign

2015-16 Canisius Fund Annual Campaign

A fundraising campaign for Canisius College

The 2015-16 Canisius Fund campaign began on June 1 and runs through May 31, 2016. This year we are celebrating the impact of donors’ gifts with a theme inspired by St. Ignatius Loyola's exhortation: “Go forth and set the world on fire.”

Annual gifts to the Canisius Fund – from alumni, parents, and friends - help make a Canisius education possible by providing essential funding for tuition assistance and scholarships, academic and athletic excellence and programs that strengthen our Jesuit educational mission. By making a Canisius education possible,
you ignite a fire in each of our students to go forth and make a difference in the world.

Did you know nearly all (98 percent) of our student body receives some form of financial aid? Your gift to the Canisius Fund provides essential funding for tuition assistance and scholarships, making the dream of a Canisius education a reality for many deserving students.

"I did not grow up in the best of communities or with the support that I often needed. My mother always dreamed for me to go to college, a dream that I never completely understood. When I received news that I would be attending Canisius on scholarship, my mother cried. She knew what I know now: an education is one of the extraordinary blessings in the world. Not only have I grown over these past few years but I have helped my family and community to grow with me. Canisius invested in me so that I can invest in my community. For this, I will forever be appreciative." - Vance Stinson '16

With nearly 150 years of excellence as a hallmark, it's no surprise Canisius offers some of the best programs in the state, country and world. Your gift to the Canisius Fund provides essential funding to ensure this tradition continues - not only for the glory of the college but for the benefit of students today and tomorrow.

"To compete in and then win the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge against 4,000 students from 70 countries was surreal. The experience not only set me and my teammates apart for future professional pursuits, it taught us the importance of being the most prepared, and even more so, working as a team. We worked toward something greater than our individual selves and in the end this gave us the winning edge." - Matthew Coad, MBA '16

Each year, thousands of Canisius students serve others through participation in service projects and immersion trips, making an impact in the local and international communities. Your gift to the Canisius Fund provides essential funding for programs that strengthen our Jesuit mission to help students become men and women for others.

"This past year, I was given the incredible opportunity to travel to D.C. with Campus Ministry and lobby in front of very influential people about social justice throughout the world. Since beginning my journey at Canisius, I have realized that Canisius is special. It presents students with opportunities like no other, provides an excellent education, and has a community so strong it will be part of you long after graduation. I want to sincerely thank the alumni for their part in making Canisius so very special." - Alexis Grebenok '18
