Our Team Story

On January 13th 2017, Matt and I found out we were pregnant for the first time. On March 18th, 2017 we found out we were having a baby boy and we named him Nathan John.  In the three months following we made all the preparations that all expectant parents make.  We picked out a theme/color for the nursery, started planning the baby shower, we both starting feeling his little kicks and even envisioned what the holidays were going to be like with a new baby.  By Memorial Day weekend we had the nursery coming together; the room was painted, crib was set up, new closet organizer was put in with clothes already there.  On June 6th, I had a doctors appointment and heard his heartbeat and was assured everything would be alright.  On Friday, I had this awful feeling that something was not right.  All the little kicks I had been feeling for the past months, seemed to have calmed down.  I was able to get into an imaging center for an ultrasound to ease our minds that Nathan was okay, and I was just a paranoid mother.  At 9:15 that night, Matt and I heard the words that no parent ever wants to hear, "I'm sorry, but you have every right to be concerned. I cannot find a heartbeat.  I will call your doctor."  We were sent to the hospital, with no idea what was in store for us.  I was induced into labor that night and deliveried my beautiful, precious, perfect little boy on June 10th 2017 at 11:24am.  He was 1.2 pounds and 11.5 inches long.  Matt and I are so blessed to have been able to spend the time we had with our son and have both sets of grandparents there to meet him and say goodbye to Nathan John Hagner.

The WNYPBN has done so much for those who are devastated by the loss of their babies. We are committed to help them continue their mission to help families and honor lives.
