Liam’s Legacy

Liam was diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis, or absent kidneys, at 14 weeks gestation. We spent our summer in a research trial at Cincinnati fetal center to infuse fluid back into his amniotic sac in hopes of being able to develop his lungs enough to get dialysis at birth.  Unfortunately the trial didn’t work as hoped, and Liam was born October 16th 2018 at 3:45 pm.  We were lucky enough to have WNY perinatal bereavement network to help us form a plan before birth, to get a birth photographer last minute & a cuddle cot to be able to keep him at our bedside.  

Liam was a miracle in himself after being told he wouldn’t make it to 20 weeks gestation.  He lived 10 beautiful hours, got baptized, met his grandparents, great grandparents & aunt, opened his eyes & peacefully passed away in my arms at 1:50 am.

Since October we have donated in Liam’s memory back to Cincinnati labor & delivery by providing a cuddle cot to allow families time with their babies, we have provided boxes to mom’s who lost a baby at Millard Fillmore suburban, & we have adopted a family at Christmas.  We keep Liam’s Legacy alive by donating & speaking his name everyday.  If you find it in your heart to donate in Liam’s memory, WNY perinatal bereavement network helps families with all types of pregnancy and infant loss.
