Our Team Story
This year I have asked my friends and family to come walk with me, to support my cause. I was diagnosed with epilepsy a little over a year ago. My symptoms started well before that, but I was stubborn and pretended it was nothing. That didn't end very well for me, and I do not recommend turning a blind eye to things that feel weird, but you think it’s nothing. Anyway, over this past year I have blown through five medications. Let’s just say it wasn't a good year. I’ve struggled with severe depression, blinding headaches, nausea, stomach pains, and so much more. I encourage you to donate to this team because nobody deserves to go through this. Nobody deserves this double negative medicine selection. Nobody deserves having to pick a medication based off which side effects are the best of the worst. Nobody deserves to feel like they don't matter. Like they are nothing. Like their life has been taken from them. Nobody deserves epilepsy. I believe I speak for the millions of epileptics out there when I say, we need help. We need support. We need people to understand what we are going through. If you still don't believe that epilepsy is 'worthy' of your money, then go for a drive in your car. Take a warm bath by yourself. Go out for a run. Play with your video games, or go to the movies. Enjoy your complete freedom. Because people living with epilepsy, don't have the luxury.
