Cross Country/ Track

The Canisius College cross country/track teams have been taken to new heights since the hiring of current head coach Nate Huckle. For the first time in program history, the Griffs finished first in the National Catholic Championships, knocking off the host University of Notre Dame, in 2014. In conference competition, the men’s cross country team has finished no lower than third place at the MAAC Championship in the last three years. The women’s team has also made great strides, finishing sixth at the National Catholic Championships in 2013 and 2014, while posting an eighth-place finish in 2015. Since taking over the program, Huckle’s student-athletes have won nine All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference awards in cross-country on both the men’s and women’s teams.

The cross-country/track teams are directed by SUNY Brockport graduate Nate Huckle. The fourth-year head coach also helped resurrect the Canisius indoor and outdoor track program during the 2014 season. Ciara Kissane and Cassie Goodman assist Huckle, as both were new to the program this past season.
