Our Team Story

Fund BLSA's Community Economic Development Grants

Join us with a donation of any size or by attending a fundraising event.

The challenge is on!  If we can raise $9,000, then we will unlock a special $6,000 challenge grant from the CUNY Law faculty.

ABOUT BLSA

CUNY BLSA (Black Law Student Association) is a chapter of the National Black Law Student Association that is committed to clearing the pathways for future Black attorneys. As part of our mission, we support current students seeking to practice, in the words of CUNY’s motto "law in service of human needs." In the past, we have fundraised over $20,000 in BLSA Community Economic Development Grants which funds summer internships for BLSA members.

This year BLSA will be awarding Summer Grants funding in three categories:

  • BLSA Summer '21 Grant in Recognition of Outstanding Leadership in the BIPOC Student Community at CUNY Law
  • BLSA Summer '21 Grant in Recognition of Outstanding Leadership in the Black & Latino Student Community at CUNY Law
  • **NEW** BLSA Summer '21 Mental Wellness Grant for students in need of financial support to address barriers to their academic success.
