Princess Donut
Donut. Or, as her fans call her, Princess Donut. Or, as her loyal subjects know her, Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk.
Donut was the only survivor of a litter of seven. We bottle fed her from just three days old. She was the smallest puppy in the litter with the poorest outlook, but somehow she defied the odds. I think it's only fitting that she claims the throne as the teeniest Face of the Race winner ever.
"Why that name?" I hear you asking. While I was bottle feeding her and her siblings, along with three other litters at all hours of the day and night, I decided it was the perfect time to start a new book series. Donut was named after its main female character, another survivor who, much like my little girl, refused to give up, and is a total baddie
We entered Face of the Race for two reasons:
- To help raise funds and give back to the rescue that holds such an incredibly special place in my heart.
- Because let's be honest... this face would look SO CUTE on a T-shirt.

Which contestant will be our Puro Pup?
It's time to choose the dog who will represent SNIPSA at the 19th Annual 5k Race for the Rescues on September 27th! To the right, you will find the adorable faces of this year's Face of the Race entrants and have the opportunity to read their stories. Each pup is campaigning to raise funds for SNIPSA's life-saving mission. It's up to you to choose the Puro Pup you think will best represent our cause and vote via donation!
The contestant with the most donations will receive a free photoshoot, local fame, representation on Race merch, free admission to the 5k, and a ride in the pace car on Race day. They will also receive the satisfaction of knowing they made an impact on the lives of countless homeless animals in San Antonio!
