When I left the Army, I found myself starting over in a brand-new city, completely on my own. It was exciting, but it was also lonely. In October 2024, I walked into SNIPSA and met a goofy little mutt named Jack. I thought I was rescuing him, but the truth is, he rescued me too.

From the very beginning, Jack has been my constant companion. He’s been there for every new adventure, every difficult day, and every milestone as I built a new life. Whether we’re out exploring trails, training for races, or simply relaxing at home, he’s my best friend and the reason I smile every single day.

One of our favorite traditions is running the SNIPSA 5K together. Since adopting Jack, we’ve participated every year, celebrating not only our love for running but also the incredible organization that brought us together. Every step we take is a reminder of how one rescue dog can completely change a person’s life.
