Mooney is proudly competing in this year’s Face of the Race to raise critical funds for animals in need. Once a rescue himself—Heartworm positive and battling an upper respiratory infection—Mooney found a second chance through SNIPSA. Today, he’s happy, healthy, and ready to give back!!
Your donation supports urgent medical cases like Ruby, a sweet Shar Pei mix who received life-changing entropion surgery… Betty, who was rescued with deep wounds and needed extensive care… and Twinkles, who underwent leg surgery and later surprised everyone with eleven puppies!
But SNIPSA’s mission goes far beyond treating emergency cases—it also provides free and low-cost spay/neuter servicesto help underserved members of our community care for their pets.

It's time to choose the dog who will represent SNIPSA at the 18th Annual 5k Race for the Rescues on September 27th! To the right, you will find the adorable faces of this year's Face of the Race entrants and have the opportunity to read their stories. Each pup is campaigning to raise funds for SNIPSA's life-saving mission. It's up to you to choose the 80s icon you think will best represent our cause and vote via donation!
The contestant with the most donations will receive a free photoshoot, local fame, representation on Race merch, free admission to the 5k, and a ride in the pace car on Race day. They will also receive the satisfaction of knowing they made an impact on the lives of countless homeless animals in San Antonio!
