Steve and I recently adopted Missy, a standard poodle, from SNIPSA. She came to us needing to put on a few pounds and to be loved. We have had a wonderful time watching her eat, grow and gain trust. She is so very loved and gives that love back 100 times over. We were so pleased to be able to adopt a dog from SNIPSA because their mission in the San Antonio area is so important:
SNIPSA rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes animals from high kill shelters and the community and encourages responsible pet ownership. They offer low cost spay/neuter options and offer free spay/neuter services to underserved areas of the city. Several times a year, SNIPSA holds "Big Fix" clinics providing sterilization, vaccinations and microchipping of hundreds of dogs and cats in a single day!

It's time to choose the dog who will represent SNIPSA at the 18th Annual 5k Race for the Rescues on September 27th! To the right, you will find the adorable faces of this year's Face of the Race entrants and have the opportunity to read their stories. Each pup is campaigning to raise funds for SNIPSA's life-saving mission. It's up to you to choose the 80s icon you think will best represent our cause and vote via donation!
The contestant with the most donations will receive a free photoshoot, local fame, representation on Race merch, free admission to the 5k, and a ride in the pace car on Race day. They will also receive the satisfaction of knowing they made an impact on the lives of countless homeless animals in San Antonio!
