For so many families who travel to Winston Salem for medical treatment, the Family House is a home away from home. Having worked here for the past 1-1/2 years, I've seen the positive impact the Family House has on so many people. Think of us as a Ronald McDonald House for families and caregivers of adult patients (instead of pediatric patients). Feel free to stop in for a visit, or check our our webpage www.familyhousews.org The Family House is for a guest like Mary, who was flown to Winston Salem with her husband with no money, no food, and no place to sleep. She was scared and tired. Her days at the hospital were filled with difficult decisions and stress. When she returned to the Family House, however, she was welcomed back to a kitchen full of food and wonderful smells, a comfortable bed in which to sleep, and more. My personal goal is to raise $1,000 by September 15, 2015 to help the Family House reach its goal of $5,000 to Pack the Pantry. No donation is too small!
