UPDATE: The Crisis Continues - Your Support Is Still Needed
When we launched this fundraiser, the Trump administration was threatening to cut off SNAP benefits on November 1st, 2025, impacting 757,000 Oregonians, including 136,000 Multnomah County residents who rely on SNAP as a lifeline.
They effectively did this. Even after multiple federal judges ruled that the administration must use emergency funds to pay SNAP benefits, the administration fought the rulings, appealed, and did everything they could to keep food away from those in need.
On November 7th, following the judges' orders, Oregon fully funded November SNAP benefits. The government shutdown ended on November 12th, but the chaos and uncertainty for families in need continues.
The food crisis is far from over. The so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" cuts SNAP and Medicaid for millions of Americans.
Oregon Food Bank President Andrea Williams said it plainly: "This bill will increase hunger in Oregon. There's no way to sugar-coat it."
The devastating impact: Refugees and asylum seekers will lose SNAP entirely -- Veterans and parents face new barriers to access. These cuts will drive both housing and health instability across our communities.
Visits to food assistance sites have reached historic highs, reflecting the growing pressure many people are under to feed themselves. That's why we're still asking for your support. Join us in helping our neighbors with a secure online donation to Oregon Food Bank!
We are in this together, and Oregon Food Bank will continue to show up for the people who count on them.
Here are 3 ways you can get involved:
