I've been serving at ReSOURCE as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the past few months, and will be continuing that role until next August. I've learned a lot about the organization since I've been here and really respect and admire their mission to do good in the community. I've worked a lot with YouthBuild, which is a job skills training program for at-risk youth in Chittenden, Washington and Lamoille counties that do not have the resources or do not feel that they can pursue further education. YouthBuild gives those kids the opportunity to obtain their high school diploma, learn valuable job skills and relationship building skills that they can take anywhere into the workforce. We do some really great work here at ReSOURCE, and YouthBuild is only one aspect of this great organization. I grew up in a place of privilege, which I had never even thought about until more recently in my adult life. Your donation will help these kids have the same chance that I, and so many of my peers growing up had, to pursue further education and become who they really want to be.
