I am helping the Chicago Abortion Fund raise $20K to fund abortion ahead of the CAF Half/5K race on September 28th! The Chicago Abortion Fund (CAF) is Illinois' statewide abortion fund that provides financial, logistical, and emotional support to people seeking abortion services in Illinois, across the Midwest, and beyond. Right now, Illinois is not only a regional access point for abortion care, but a national one. CAF funds people seeking abortions who are coming to Illinois from across the country, and those accessing care in surrounding states. Last year, CAF fielded over 16,000 calls for support – representing people based in 40+ states – and they were able to offer support to 100% of the people they reached coming to Illinois. We want to make sure this critical work is able to be sustained! People seeking abortion care face financial, logistical, and cultural barriers to care – all of which CAF case managers seeks to mitigate with compassionate, person-first support.
