Hello, my name is Brendan Kenny and I’m very excited to be a first time Jr Chef with Andy’s 17th Annual Pasta Dinner. I am supporting LifeNet4Families, whose mission is to be a seamless system of care for those in need in Broward County, by providing necessary food, ancillary services and referrals. Imagine going to sleep hungry as a child; I can’t nor can you. Every night in Broward County about 1 in 7 children goes to sleep hungry. That doesn’t sound right to me! That’s why my goal is to raise at least $500 in support of LifeNet4Families. I want to live in a world where no man, woman or child has to go hungry at any time. For over 30 years LifeNet4Families has been providing food and services to the hungry and homeless of Broward County. Today, LifeNet4Families serves approximately 90,000 meals a year. There is a major need for food services within Broward County for those who deal with issues of food insecurity (the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food), homelessness and poverty. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support so that LifeNet4Families can continue to serve our community. My vision is that one day, we will live in a world where everyone is free from hunger, homelessness and poverty.

About the Event

Andy’s Family Pasta Dinner, has raised in excess of $1,000,000 for LifeNet4Families, for the past 17 years and has provided more than 1,000,000 meals to food insecure individuals and families in Broward County. In 2018, over 850 individuals and families attended the event raising over $200,000. Help us reach our 2019 goal of reaching $250,000!

LifeNet4Families' invites you to join us on February 10, 2019, at the Signature Grand, Davie, FL, for an informal, old-fashioned family style pasta dinner. It is a fun, casual gathering of our community for a great cause.

Junior Chef Program Overview

History:

Every year since 2002 Andy Cagnetta has invited his friends, family and peers to join him for an Italian family pasta dinner to raise money to feed individuals and families in Broward County.  Over the past 16 years, this event has raised 1 million dollars for LifeNet4Families.  

This year, Andy’s 17th Annual Family Pasta Dinner will be held at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida on Sunday, February 10, 2019.  The money raised directly benefits LifeNet4Families and their efforts to provide food and other basic resources to people in need in Broward County.  

Goal:

Introducing high school and middle school students to an opportunity where they can volunteer their time to help others and learn a sense of gratitude and empathy for the needs of the less fortunate in their community.   

Volunteer: 

We invite you to become a Junior Chef, the title we have given to student volunteers who both volunteer their time at LifeNet4Families and also fundraise for the event.

Responsibilities:

• Learn more about LifeNet4Families and the valuable services they provide by touring the facility including the kitchen and emergency food pantry.  Become involved by helping to stock the shelves with food.  

• Learn how to set up your own personal fundraising page using Andy’s Family Pasta Dinner website, setting a fundraising goal of $500.  

• Send your fundraising page link to family, friends, classmates, neighbors, and anyone you think will help you reach your goals.

• Participate in volunteer events at LifeNet4Families (i.e. sandwich making, organizing toiletries, turkey drive, backpack drive, etc.).

• Invite family and friends to the Annual Family Pasta Dinner, share on social media, etc.

• Receive a certificate of recognition and be honored on stage at the Annual Family Pasta Dinner.

• Many opportunities to earn community service hours.
