Edward Angelini-Cooke
Hello everyone! My name is Edward Angelini-Cooke....or as my AIDS Delaware team call me, Dr. EAC. I serve on the executive board for AIDS Delaware and I am walking in this years AIDS Walk on September 21st to support the mission of AIDS Delaware, which is "to eliminate the spread and stigma of HIV/AIDS, improve the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS, and promote community health through comprehensive and culturally sensitive services, education programs, and advocacy."
As a board member, I have been witness to the amazing work that AIDS Delaware provides our community. In fact, I had Frank Hawkins, the director of prevention services, come speak to my sexuality and gender studies class at the University of Delaware this past spring. As witnessed through my class evaluations, he was a vital part of the learning experience for my scholars.
This past year, AIDS Delaware has began connecting educating and connecting people to (pre-exposure prophylaxis) PrEP services, which is a HIV-prevention medicine and care protocol. Creating more awareness of the PrEP protocol is an important goal of the AIDS Walk. PrEP medications are 99% effective at reducing the risk of contacting HIV.
You are an important part of this mission to end the stigma through education, support those that need help, and help prevent the spread of HIV. Please consider donating and supporting my goal of raising $500 for this year's AIDS Walk.

Knowledge Neighborhood - Exhibit or Visit

The Knowledge Neighborhood, located in both Brandywine Park and Grove Park, is an open-air, informational marketplace where walkers can gain awareness about community organizations, local and national businesses. It allows walkers face-to-face interaction with exhibitors to get information about their services and to ask questions about their cause, services, or business. To register to exhibit, click HERE.
There is also a Virtual Knowledge Neighborhood, which can be viewed from the AIDS Walk Delaware website and will be hosted all year on both AIDS Delaware and the Delaware HIV Consortium’s sites.
