Family Promise believes in keeping every family together through its crisis, regardless of the makeup of the family. Not only that, but ever since the pandemic they've kept families together in an innovative shelter model that leases and furnishes apartments through donations (thanks to dozens of congregation and corporate partners). Families can move right in the same day they call for help if there is an opening! As one of Indianapolis' leading homeless shelters, they have helped more than 2,000 unhoused families sign leases on places of their own! Thank you for considering a gift today that helps fund their Apartment Shelter Program in 2026. Learn more at www.fpgi.org/apartment-shelter-program.

About this Campaign

Amy Adams

Because every child deserves a home.

Have you ever had to spend a night without a bed?

If you’re lucky, the answer is no. But Family Promise has sheltered families previously sleeping in cars, park pavilions, abandoned houses, and doubled up with other families. There are far too many children and parents who sleep without a bed.

You can help Family Promise expand its homeless shelter to help those families. Right now.

Spend a night without a bed on May 2—in your car, on your sofa, on your floor, in your tent in your yard--to remember those who can't choose to. Have fun and be creative while helping those in need.  Consider organizing a group sleepout at your church or with friends!

Donate to your congregation or company team, or form a fundraising team of your own. Ask your friends and family to make a gift to the effort. Every gift—$10 to $1,000—will help. Share your night with #NightWithoutABed on Facebook, Instagram, or other social media and tag @Family Promise of Greater Indy.

On Thursday, April 30, we'll have a T-shirt giveaway and FPGI community event for all those participating at BuffaloLouie's Carmel (43 W Main St, Carmel, IN 46032) from 11:00 AM-8:00 PM. Come meet some of the families past support has helped!

Night Without A Bed will support so many children who deserve a home, and their parents who want the chance to provide it. We hope to "see" you Thursday, April 30.

#NightWithoutABed is the primary fundraising campaign to support Family Promise's Apartment Shelter Programa model birthed in Indianapolis in the pandemic that now has spread to at least twenty other cities. The goal will increase by $15,000 every time it is reached because that covers the cost for one 12-month lease on an apartment, plus security deposit, utilities, Internet, insurance, and some repairs. Since 2020, the shelter programs have served 1151 individuals across 329 households, including 699 children, with a housing rate of around 69%.
