About Domestic Violence Awareness Month

For many, the month of October means hayrides, pumpkins, and changing leaves, but at YWCA Mohawk Valley, it signifies Domestic Violence Awareness Month, nationally recognized every October. Whether we are aware of it or not, each of us knows someone who is affected by domestic violence. The survivor may be a family member, a coworker, a friend, or an acquaintance. On any given day, we encounter the need to recognize this issue.
