About Save lives through fostering!

We are always looking for compassionate people to provide temporary care in their home for animals who are not yet available for adoption. Our foster families bridge the gap of time between intake and adoption and allow the animal to reach full size, recovery, and potential for adoption. The time commitment for temporary care varies from animal to animal and is dependent upon their needs.

Fostering an animal can be a great way to interact with a dog or cat without assuming full responsibility for their long-term care. You can also become more familiar with a variety of different breeds which may help you to decide which animal is right for you permanently. WSHS will provide the supplies you need to take care of the animals. We also provide all veterinary care through our network of veterinary hospitals. You can find out more information and apply to be a WSHS foster home here: https://www.wshs-dg.org/get-involved/foster
