We are grateful to the Austin Parks Foundation and the city of Austin Parks and Recreation Urban Forestry Division for organizing this wonderful project.

Project goals: Help support Austin's urban tree canopy through tree planting. Volunteers will learn proper techniques for tree planting and follow up care, and practice tree planting skills around the park. No prior experience necessary.

What to bring: Closed toe shoes, a full water bottle and comfortable outdoor clothing (preferably long pants and sleeves) a must. Snacks, sunscreen, bug spray recommended. We will provide all tools and gloves - if you have your own gardening or work gloves you are welcome to bring them.

Where we will begin: We'll meet at Bartholomew Park near the Delwood Sports Complex along Shady Brook Ln at 9AM to get started with introductions and a demonstration!

Where to park: There is open parking available throughout the parking lot near the Delwood sports complex and along Shady Brook Ln.

Accessibility: Please note that our activity for the day will involve walking on uneven terrain, slopes and wet/muddy surfaces.

SAFETY: We encourage you to “See and Be Seen!” Be mindful of your fellow volunteers and maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times. Dial 911 in case of emergency. In the event of dangerous inclement weather such as lightning, hail, or strong winds/rain, Austin Parks Foundation staff will direct volunteers to vacate the site immediately.
