The Usher position is just what you think it is - showing people to their seat, assisting in traffic control and escorting filmmakers towards the step-n-repeat banner for photos after the screening. Ushers can share duties with the Q&A Moderator in taking photos of notables and filmmakers who attend the screening for archival purposes. The Usher ensures safety and a smooth running experience for all.

The projectionist operates the file-based media player that films are projected from. It's easy and fun to operate and anyone with basic computer skills can pick it up in minutes. Films are organized in playlists in the order in which they are to be shown. Press one button and the system runs itself... almost. Help keep the festival running professionally and on-time. Volunteer today to be a WILLiFEST projectionist.
Q&A Moderators
September 20, 2014 8:00pm
Q&A Moderators fulfill a crucial role at any film festival. A knowledge of film is a plus, the moderator brings the filmmakers up to the front of the theater venue after the films are finished screening and conducts an interview about the films just screened and opens up questions to the audience so a complete understanding and appreciation of the film just viewed is achieved by all. This is what separates a festival from the regular movie-going experience. After the Q&A, the Moderator will escort the filmmakers and notables out to the step-n-repeat banner for photo opportunities. The moderator also helps regulate the time and keep the festival running on schedule. A comfort with talking in front of an audience is the only requirement. Step up and mix with the filmmakers at this year's event.
