About Change a Life. Become a Tutor!

The Whatcom Literacy Council is recruiting volunteers to work with adults who have asked for help to improve their English, reading, writing, math, and computer skills. A volunteer tutor might work directly with a “learner” or help out in a classroom, typically about 3 hours per week.

Our volunteer tutors receive 8 hours of ProLiteracy training before they begin their volunteer service. Whatcom Literacy Council staff provide resources and support. Please consider becoming a volunteer tutor! The Whatcom Literacy Council is member of ProLiteracy America, and a United Way partner agency.
