About Volunteering at Wayside Christian Mission's Bargain Centers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Wayside Christian Mission Bargain Centers. During the week (Monday through Friday) we offer hours at both of our thrift store locations from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and on the weekends, we have hours from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is a good group project that would allow you the flexibility to craft your own schedule during the hours listed above. The locations are as follows:

J-Town Bargain Center - the larger of the two stores

Poplar Level Bargain Center

Louisville, KY 40219

These opportunities will entail cleaning, sorting through donations and beautifying the stores to help support the ongoing programs at Wayside through the sales of these items. This is also a great opportunity to converse with our clients who are running the store. Thank you once again for your support.

Application Process

We ask new volunteers to go through a one hour orientation to become acquainted with our facilities and the many ministry/volunteer opportunities. Our volunteer orientations are held weekly on Saturdays at 10 AM (excluding holidays). Our chaplain, Michael Blunk, conducts the orientations. Volunteers should meet in the hotel lobby (120 West Broadway, 40202) where Chaplain Mike will guide you to a meeting room and overview the mission and our many volunteer opportunities.
