About Volunteering Opportunities

The Society is always looking for volunteers to help with events, historical interpretation, as well as behind the scenes with acquisition cataloging, building and ground maintenance.
We're looking for volunteers who:

We need volunteers to help with:
Heritage Days setup and take down
In preparing for the Heritage Days weekend event, it takes many people to setup tents and fences, move cookstoves, buggies, and other equipment for demonstrations. In addition to cleaning the barn, and preparing the area for food sales.
Heritage Days cooking (for sales)
Prior to Heritage Days, food supplies need purchased. The day before the event starts, food is prepared in the WRSD kitchen and during the weekend.
Society Acquisitions and artifacts
We are in need of people to help with updating our acquisition list, and taking pictures of objects while entering the info into a computer.
Heritage Days demonstrators
We are always looking for people, including students, that what to learn a trade/skill from the 1770-1870 time period, or currently participate in other reenactments demonstrating a colonial skill or to portray a particular person to the time period.
Warrior Run Church Grounds and Cemetery maintenace
We are looking for people to help with regular grounds keeping during the summer months, and working with others on the mowing crew. We also have cleaner for cleaning tombstones.
