About Wags, Hope and Healing: Volunteer Details

Volunteer Opportunities and Details
Our Wags volunteer program offers a variety of ways to assist in saving lives with us:

Day to day care of the dogs. With our new kennel facility opening soon, regular volunteer opportunities, such as walking dogs, cleaning kennels, laundry and basic facility maintenance will all be welcome.

Fostering. Foster homes are especially needed for pets that may need a little more time to decompress or heal after their rescue or due to a medical procedure. We love to see dogs that are recovering from a surgery or heartworm treatment heal in the calm environment of a home, where they can be the sole focus of attention.

Puppy Socialization. Meeting new people of all ages and sizes is vital to socializing our puppy rescues. This is a great volunteer opportunity for the whole family.

Event help. Wags regularly hosts adoption events where we could use assistance in manning our tables, dog handlers and help in setting up and breaking down our booths. Events are an excellent way to spread our mission with potential adopters and donors.

Transportation. While the majority of our dogs are transported in our Wags van from, we do on occasion need assistance in having pets brought to and from events or Veterinary appointments.

Fundraising. We can always use help in fundraising. From setting up an online fundraiser to collecting donations during a community donation drive, fundraising is an excellent opportunity to get involved.

Family-Friendly

Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
