About Student Community Involvement Programme

The Student Community Involvement Programme (SCIP) introduces high school students to volunteering through fun, hands on activities.
Our enthusiastic and energetic Youth Volunteering Coordinator, Heather Moore, works with six local high schools in Dunedin to deliver a series of ten week volunteering programs.
Each week students are shown a different way they can get involved with their local community through field trips, hands on-volunteering, guest speakers.
Students get opportunities to develop their leadership, planning, organisation and communication skills through positive community engagement.
All activities align with the New Zealand Curriculum and the Youth Strategy of Aotearoa.
