About Day of Action

Come join us June 30th and help construct Literacy Kits for area schools and libraries. The kits help assist children and teachers in South Mississippi in addressing early childhood literacy.

A Literacy Kit is comprised of a book and a collection of related objects, games and other activates to make reading interactive and enjoyable for the child. A kit takes 45 minutes to an hour to construct by one volunteer. We will begin at 9:00am and go until 3:00pm. You can choose your time to volunteer and how long.

Research has shown that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun. The kits help make that possible for the child and the reader.

If you would like to help but don't have time to volunteer, we have sponsorships available.
$250 for the Books
$150 for Kit Boxes
$100 for other supplies
Your logo/name will be on the item you sponsor.

Application Process

Please select the SIGN UP button at the top. Then you will be contacted by email for hours you would like to volunteer to help complete the Literacy Kits.
