2015 Regional Michigan Science Olympiad
Hosted by: VOLUNTEER Lenawee!
About 2015 Regional Michigan Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events in each division (Division B is middle school; Division C is high school). Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. Through Science Olympiad, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders bond together and work toward a shared goal.
We are looking for the following volunteers:
• Event Supervisors - take the lead on an event. They write, create, gather materials and supplies and organize the event. They use the rules to help guide their event. They run the event on the competition day.
• Event Assistants - take guidance from the Event Supervisor and help to coordinate the event in advance if asked, and also will help run the event during the competition day.
Application Process
Anyone 18 years or older who would like to volunteer, especially (but not necessary) with an interest or background in Science, would be excellent! Volunteers can spend as little as an hour or the whole day (8:50-3:30 PM) on Adrian College campus helping out.
