About Edgewood Village Volunteer Service Day 2018

Help support our community efforts to offer opportunities that increase the quality of life for our residents! Edgewood Village and Edgewood Village Community Garden provided low income, senior, and disabled, families and individuals opportunities including garden access so residents can grow their own food, we donate produce to the community, and provides opportunities for many other educational, social, and recreational programs.
Volunteers are needed to help get the garden ready for planting and assist with Spring cleaning and organization in our community center The Village Network Center (VNC), and community room.

Tasks include:
Garden: Community garden plot preparation, organizing garden storage, painting the community garden fence, painting and building garden signs, assembling and filling raised garden beds, disassemble cinder block bed in hoop house.
VNC: Organize and Clean storage spaces used for our After-School Program and other youth programs including cubies, and craft room. Help organize our Community Free Store.
Tower Community Room: Organize and clean storage spaces used for programming.

Qualifications: Must be friendly and able to interact with diverse groups of people. Gardening is a plus but not required. A volunteer application and background check is required. Volunteer application available in link below.
