Readathon 2016

Raising funds for your library one word at a time on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A fundraising campaign for Friends of the Villa Park Library

The Friends of the Library invite you to stop by the Villa Park Public Library and support our Second Annual Readathon!  The Friends will again be welcoming over 24 Cool Readers to participate in a continuous reading marathon on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to promote literacy and life long learning within our community.

The Villa Park Library is an important part of this community and the Friends mission to Promote, Enhance and Generate Ideas has always been at our forefront. There has never been an easier way for you to help us help our community!

WONDERING HOW YOU CAN HELP US WITH OUR MISSION?

Join us by helping to Promote the Villa Park Public Library; talk about the Readathon to everyone you know; come out and listen to our Cool Readers and donate, no amount is too small and it will make a BIG difference.

Join the Friends and help us to Generate Ideas to keep the Villa Park Public Library the coolest place in town!

Our Readathon last year was a HUGE success, and with the funds raised, the Friends were able to Enhance the Library by purchasing items from the Library's Wish List.  Stop by and take a look at our new modular shelving and LEGO building accessories in Youth Services; check out the new Shakespeare, Nolo and SAT books in Adult Services; and take a walk on the Prairie Path and see our 2 new Little Free Libraries!
