About Volunteer for The HiRisers Program

The HiRisers after-school program, run for youth by youth, trains high school students to work with elementary and middle school students teaching them literacy, life-skills and sports. Through unique, interactive workshops, and by using sports as a "hands-on" learning tool, the high school Youth Staff build literacy skills and teach the important life-skills of communication, teamwork and leadership.

The HiRisers program needs volunteers each year for its high school Youth Staff tutoring program. Tutors help Youth Staff in a variety of subjects during the school year, and have special sessions during Regents and Final Exam weeks.
