About Program Tutor/ Mentor
- Volunteers must be available during program hours-‐
9:00am -‐5:30pm, Monday-‐Friday
-After-‐school program volunteer hours are from
3:00pm-‐5:00pm, Monday-‐Friday
-Primary roles include helping with: daily homework, tutoring, mentoring, snack time, reading activities, arts
and crafts, playground and classroom supervision, sports
and recreation activities, and other enrichment programs
geared for K-‐5th grade students.
- Supervise and help chaperone field trips and special
events (weekends)
-Offer support, friendship, and a constructive example
to individual students and high school student volunteers
-Serve as a mentor and offer guidance and encouragement
to help children explore their talents, strengths, potential,
and belief that they can succeed academically, graduate
high school, and attend college!
