About Meaning of Service: Serving vs. Giving

Every month, the Center for Community and Civic Engagement (HUB 104) runs a round table discussion called the Meaning of Service. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to discuss and reflect on different service topics, and share opinions on all matters in a safe environment. Each month is a new topic. Students are encouraged to draw on previous experiences to enhance the discussions. September's topic is Serving vs. Giving, offering the chance to have a compare/contrast discussion on the topics. October's topic is Why Do We Serve, taking a more in depth look at why we do serve. Any student who attends also earns one hour of community service, and lunch is provided.
