About Turn the Page Wyoming Valley School-Based Volunteer Needed!

The United Way of Wyoming Valley is partnering with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District and the Osterhout Free Library on a school-based library program. We are looking for a School-Based volunteer to assist a youth librarian from the Osterhout Library with the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Commit to 2 weeks a month with morning sessions from 9:00 am - 11:15 am and/or afternoon sessions from 1:30 pm- 3:00 pm running Monday through Thursday at Kistler Elementary School.

•Assist the librarian with lesson and arts and craft activity.

•Help organize books children have read before and after each session.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must have Act 34: PA Criminal Record Clearance, Act 151: PA Child Abuse Clearance, and Act 114: FBI Fingerprinting Clearance.

•Comfortable working with Pre-K through 1st grade students.

BENEFITS:
•Volunteers will know their time is making a difference with young children who otherwise might not have access to critical library resources.

•The children enjoy story time and literacy rich activities and will have access to more age-appropriate books in the school setting.
