About '9/11 Serve to Remember' Offers Volunteer Opportunities

On the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Americans will unite in service in the same remarkable way that so many came together following the attacks.

As in years past, we anticipate service and remembrance activities from many local nonprofit and civic groups. These groups provide volunteer opportunities for hundreds of volunteers to clean up parks, run food drives, spruce up schools, help the homeless, clean up neighborhoods, and support and honor veterans, soldiers, military families, and first responders.

Isn’t it great when you find what you are looking for exactly where it is supposed to be?

That doesn’t just happen, especially in a busy library. It takes good organization and helping hands to keep things orderly. Volunteers like you are needed to help make that happen.

After books and other materials are checked in, they must be sorted and returned to the correct location for the next borrower to find.

You will receive a thorough orientation to explain where different types of items go and how they are organized. Rolling carts are used to move the materials, so you will not need to lift or carry heavy loads. You will be on the move quite a bit and need to be able to reach various heights of shelving.

This volunteer opportunity is for ages 18 and over. Casual dress.

One volunteer is needed each weekday 10-1:00 and 1-3:00. If you would like to work all 5 hours, please sign-up for both shifts.

350 Pageant Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040
