About Virtual Reading Buddies

This is an opportunity for individuals that want to be reading buddies. Volunteers will go through a CIS Reading buddy orientation. (30 virtually) This gives them the rules and hippa regulation. Once that is complete they are linked to a Site Coordinator that will connect them with students that they will read with. The Site Coordinator will set up the link and provide it to the buddy and log the student in so that they can have their session. The Site Coordinator will be present the entire time as the student is not to be left alone with the buddy. This is all done virtually. The student will have the book that is on their reading level, and from time to time the buddy will bring a book that they want to share with the student. Reading buddies can read with one student or a small group of students.
