United Way Flood Response & Recovery Disaster Fund

Help flood Southeast Mississippi with hope.

A fundraising campaign for United Way of Southeast Mississippi

The United Way of Southeast Mississippi has established the United Way Flood Response and Recovery Disaster Fund to accept donations to support the recovery and relief efforts of the recent floods that affected our area. The City of Hattiesburg is currently in the process of accessing flood damages to determine the scope and magnitude of the storms. Community members are encouraged to help with the flood relief efforts by donating to the United Way Flood Response and Recovery Disaster Fund.

All funds received will be used for flood response and recovery efforts. Every dollar contributed to the United Way of Southeast Mississippi Flood Response and Recovery Disaster Fund will be used for flood disaster relief and recovery in Forrest, Lamar, Perry and Marion counties. No portion of contributions will be used for overhead or administration.

R3SM is working closely with MEMA to ensure the best recovery efforts are provided to those affected by the floods. Specific flood buckets have been identified for use in removal of flood waters. Donations to the United Way Flood Response and Recovery Disaster Fund will be used to purchase these buckets along with other supplies needed to control mold growth within the flood sites. Community members living in Forrest, Lamar, Perry and Marion counties who have been affected by the floods and need assistance can contact R3SM by calling 601.544.5115.

United Way of SEMS’s volunteer center, Volunteer Hattiesburg is coordinating volunteer relief efforts throughout the area. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with flood relief efforts can contact Volunteer Hattiesburg at 601.545.7141 ext. 213 or by emailing [email protected].
