About Summer School Tutor for United Christian Ministries

The "Summer Slide" is the tendency for students, especially those from low-income families, to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. While other students gain ground through camps, family trips, and other opportunities throughout the summer, the students we serve through UCM Bible Studies often lose ground in reading and math during the summer months. We want to make sure this doesn't happen to our students!

We will need adults and college students to serve as tutors during this week from 10am-12:30pm. You can volunteer for a single day or each day of the week. You will be paired with a student to work through activities and exercises aimed at helping our ministry kids prevent the "Summer Slide." We've got ages (3rd grade - high school) and subjects for all (English, math, science, etc.). You'll love it!
