About UCA Field Trip Chaperone (Fall Semester)

During the school year, we try to take our students on a Field Trip every 2 weeks. Sometimes it's a trip to the YMCA to go swimming or even to a local park to play. Other times, it might be a visit to learn about a local resource or community asset (art galleries, hospitals, fire stations, animal shelters, etc.). We often try to integrate various life skills lessons in our field trip opportunities, so we may learn about budgeting at the grocery store, job opportunities, or even visit a college campus.

We would love to have a list of folks who would be interested in and willing to tag along on a few field trips with us this Fall! We try to schedule these types of trips 2 weeks out and would reach out to our list of Field Trip Chaperones to find a helper or two.

Volunteers would meet us at the school on Thursdays at 12:30pm, help transport a few students to the Field Trip, and work with our teacher(s) to chaperone and support students during their library visits. the trip. All would return to school by 3:00pm.

There are potentially 9 scheduled field trips this Fall.

If you're interested, please email [email protected]! Let us know if there are specific types of trips you would like to help with (i.e., swimming at the YMCA or tagging along at a museum). Also, if you've got a Field Trip idea, we are all ears!

This volunteer position requires a background check, a valid MS driver's license and current car insurance. A liability waiver is also provided.
