About See, Test & Treat multi-cancer screening event
Student volunteers are needed for the upcoming See, Test and Treat multi-cancer screening event to be held at the UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute in the Jackson Medical Mall on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Medically-underserved women in the Jackson metro area will have appointments for breast, cervical and/or oral cancer screenings and will receive same-day, face-to-face results. They will also receive a healthy meal and health information while they wait for their results.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles from 7:30 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Volunteers will be assigned specific roles, such as participant intake, escorting participants to and from screening stations, collection of evaluation data, after-event clean-up, and other tasks to ensure the overall success of the event. All volunteers are asked to participate in a walk-through training & orientation session on Friday, August 19th at 4:30 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Mall.
Registered volunteers will receive a free on-site meal and a T-shirt.
