We have a bright idea!
...in continuation of our environmental (and economic) sustainability initiative, which started last year with our Solar UPL project (where we refused to rely solely on fossil fuels for our energy supply needs), this year we have decided to rethink our energy usage... and look for ways to reduce our energy consumption. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to replace wasteful technology with more efficient products:
As a first step, we plan to replace our inefficient incandescent and fluorescent bulbs with high efficiency LED bulbs.
LEDs can use up to 80 percent less energy and can last as much as 25 times longer than than traditional bulbs -- with somewhere in the neighborhood of 50,000 hours for an average lifespan! In addition to decreased energy usage, because they are mercury free, LED bulbs are safer for the environment.
