Tri-City Volunteers is looking for volunteers to help keep our office running smoothly. The heart and soul of our organization is our food bank warehouse, but they can’t do their job unless our office is at its best. Come be a part of a great staff as you help us fulfill our mission of eliminating hunger in the Tri-City area.
Learn all the aspects of how a non-profit works. Gain excellent administrative/clerical experience. Interact with our clients and meet first-hand who we help. Put your outstanding organizational and communication skills to good use.
You may be asked to:
• Address client needs on the phone or in person
• Help maintain our database and record keeping
• Do internet based research for grant proposals/reports
• Help provide a clean, professional looking area for our clients
Previous administrative experience in a non-profit is beneficial but not required. We will train the right volunteer(s). Good computer skills are essential. Bi-lingual (Mandarin/Cantonese, Spanish, or Pashto) is a plus as many of our clients have difficulties with English. Cultural sensitivity and patience are a must. Our office is open from 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. We are asking for a commitment of one morning or afternoon “shift” a week.

Last September Tri-City Volunteers started our digital database. We need your help updating our records by putting the old, paper ones into our system. We are looking for a handful of high school students with good computer skills to come in during vacations to work with us. You can use all hours worked toward your graduation requirements, learning important job skills, and of course, you will be helping a great cause!
We will be open every day, Monday-Friday, during Spring and Summer Breaks (except July 4th). Come for a few hours or come for the whole day. We train you on our system so no need to worry about learning our software
