About International Gaming Day at Tompkins County Public Library

It’s International Gaming Day at the library
Saturday Nov. 21, from 10 – 4:30 for teens

We need volunteers for the following:

1) Leading Games
You do have to know how to play games! RPG Games, Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, Dominion, Pathfinder, etc.

10 – 4:30 in 2 hour and 2 1/2 hour shifts:
10 – 12
12-2
2-4:30

2) Running the Minecraft Tournament 12 – 4
You don’t have to know how to play the game, but you do have to feel comfortable assisting in the flow of eager teens waiting their turn to play Minecraft at one of the 8 computer stations we will have. We need two volunteers per shift
12-2

3) Crowd Control/Craft Table
You don’t need to know how to play the games. You will help to keep tournament participants who are waiting for their turn, observers, etc, from getting too close to the computers. Sometimes kids get excited and they like to hover over players’ shoulders or call out directions and it’s disruptive. Last year, we taped a line down on the carpet that no one could cross without permission so we’ll do that again this year. You will also keep an eye out for the self-directed craft table (making sure there are enough supplies, cleaning up any extensive mess, etc.)
12 – 2
4-4:30
