About Empty Bowls Volunteers

Join us as we volunteer at the Empty Bowls fundraising event benefiting North Helpline Emergency Services and Food Bank. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: handcrafted bowls are created and donated by artisans and students. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup, salad, and bread. Included in the price of admission, guests select a handcrafted bowl to keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world and in their communities.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks that include serving soup, helping with the silent auction, kitchen helpers and general event needs.

North Helpline is proud to have hosted an Empty Bowls with an extensive silent auction and entertainment since 2009. All profits raised from the event support the efforts of their Emergency Services and Food Bank. North Helpline Emergency Services and Food Bank believes that all deserve adequate food, housing, and respect and they assist the Seattle community in obtaining basic needs that affirm their human dignity and worth.

Shift: Sunday, May 1st from 11am to 3:30pm
