About The Sleeping Bag Project

Lifting Up Westchester http://www.liftingupwestchester.org/

Join fellow volunteers to help people experiencing homelessness by making simple sleeping bags from recycled fabrics and distributing them to those who need them.

The purpose is to have people in the community help others who are in need stay warm.

Work as part of a team to create sleeping bags for clients of Lifting Up Westchester.

Directions can be found here.

More information about the history of The Sleeping Bag project can be found on their website at http://www.thesleepingbagproject.org/about/our-story/.

This opportunity is an extension of Volunteer New York!’s “9/11: Serve + Remember” Day of Service event. There are almost 30 meaningful ways you can give back in your community from September 11th through the 13th and honor the memories of those who were lost by being a part of this community-wide action event. For more information please visit www.volunteernewyork.org/service or call 914-948-4452.
