About The Sleeping Bag Project
For Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, join Volunteer New York! to help people experiencing homelessness by making simple sleeping bags from recycled fabrics and distributing them to those who need them.
The purpose is to have people in the community help others who are in need stay warm.
Work as part of a team to create sleeping bags, which will be donated to homeless shelters where they will be dispersed to individuals in need.
Directions can be found here.
More information about the history of The Sleeping Bag project can be found on their website at http://www.thesleepingbagproject.org/about/our-story/.
