About Thank You First Responders

Volunteer New York! http://www.volunteernewyork.org

First responders--police officers, firefighters, ambulance corps members, and EMTs--play a vital role in our communities. They keep us safe, aid us when we are hurt or during a disaster, and are the ones who rush towards danger when others run away.

Help us thank our local first responders by making thoughtful handmade cards and attaching them to pre-made treats. Volunteers will put together the thank you packages and bundle them for the different fire houses, police stations, and EMT centers.

Drop in and join us 2-6pm--no need to stay the whole time or come right at 2pm. This is an open project; pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

The completed packages will be delivered over the weekend. If you are interested in helping to deliver treats in your community, contact Katie, [email protected] or (914) 227-9303.

This opportunity is an extension of Volunteer New York!’s “9/11: Serve + Remember” Day of Service event. There are almost 30 meaningful ways you can give back in your community from September 11th through the 13th and honor the memories of those who were lost by being a part of this community-wide action event. For more information please visit www.volunteernewyork.org/service or call 914-948-4452.
