About Support Deployed Military-- Volunteers Needed

Volunteer New York! http://www.volunteernewyork.org

Operation Gratitude is a national nonprofit, whose mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of our active duty and veteran communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for all Americans to express their appreciation to members of the military. Operation Gratitude has sent over 1 million care packages and sends more each day.

Every package contains a paracord survival bracelet and hand-written letters. For some in the military this is the only package they receive all year.

Volunteers are needed to weave paracord bracelets and write letters to deployed military. Writing letters might seem simple, but thoughtful letters are incredibly meaningful to military personnel overseas--they are the highlight of each package and help remind them that people still care about them.

Haven't made a paracord bracelet before? Not to worry--we will provide instructions and assistance.

This opportunity is an extension of Volunteer New York!’s “9/11: Serve + Remember” Day of Service event. There are almost 30 meaningful ways you can give back in your community from September 11th through the 13th and honor the memories of those who were lost by being a part of this community-wide action event. For more information please visit www.volunteernewyork.org/service or call 914-948-4452.
