About Volunteer to be a Mentor!

Pledge to be a Mentor and Tutor for a struggling youth and forever impact the life and education of a student.
On October 25th Volunteer New York! will be celebrating Mentor and Tutoring Pledge day. Mentors and Tutors will provide academic support with a focus on reading, be advocates for keeping homeless children on track, and can support after school programs in low-income areas.
According to the SmartStart program: 46% of children are not ready to succeed in school by the age of 5 and only 17% of chronically absent children in K & 1st grade can read by the end of 3rd grade.
